You need a diagnosis from our clinical team to begin ADHD medication with Xyla.
Once your diagnosis is confirmed, a prescriber will assess your suitability for medication. If you and your prescriber agree medication is an appropriate pathway, prescribing can start.
We still need to assess and confirm your ADHD diagnosis independently through our process before starting medication.
This ensures your treatment is safe and tailored to your needs. Our clinicians will begin prescribing only if you and your clinician think medication is suitable for you.
We’ll send your request to a prescriber who will start your medication review.
After diagnosis, a prescriber will review your medication request to determine suitability for treatment. They’ll explain benefits and side effects of different options. You and your prescriber will agree on how to proceed together.
Your prescription is issued securely and sent for dispensing and delivery to your home.
You’ll have at least three titration appointments to adjust your medication and make sure it works effectively.
Once stabilised, we manage your ongoing treatment, including regular prescribing appointments and annual reviews. We can also support transferring care to your GP under shared care, but this is subject to their acceptance.
Titration is the process of finding the right medication and dosage for you. Treatment is increased slowly and safely to achieve the best results in reducing individual symptoms of ADHD.
With Xyla, your treatment includes:
Prescribing appointment
Structured titration appointments
Ongoing clinical support and reviews
Your follow-up appointments are typically spaced over several weeks, allowing your clinician and you to assess how your medication is working and make any necessary adjustments.
With over 25 years of experience working alongside the NHS and private services, our clinicians deliver high quality, regulated care that is always tailored to you. Our pricing is structured clearly and reflects the expertise of our team.
If medication is not suitable
We won’t charge you for medication or titration you have not received. So if medication is not considered clinically appropriate following review by the prescribing clinician, a partial refund (£500) will be issued in line with our prescribing terms and conditions.
You can spread the cost with Klarna by paying in 3 interest-free instalments.
Start your journey with an assessment scheduled in just 2 weeks.
Our team is with you from initial consultation and diagnosis to regular prescribing and medication reviews.
Over 25 years partnering with the NHS to deliver care you can trust.
Personalised assessments and ongoing support that fit your needs.
First, you’ll need a diagnosis from a clinician qualified to carry out ADHD assessments. In the subsequent diagnostic report, your assessor will identify suitable support and treatment recommendations for you to consider.
If you decide to explore ADHD medication after receiving a diagnosis from Xyla, a prescribing clinician will discuss whether pharmacological treatment is right for you. They will take into consideration your diagnostic report, information from your GP and other factors, such as your cardiac history, physical health, height and weight.

Yes, medication can only be prescribed following a full ADHD diagnosis and clinical assessment.
Xyla handles the process from start to finish. We offer private ADHD assessments for adults and children and teenagers, and if deemed suitable after diagnosis, we can also help you access ADHD medication.
We need to independently confirm your ADHD diagnosis if you want to access medication through Xyla. This means that if you were previously diagnosed by another private provider or the NHS, you will still have to go through our assessment process.
ADHD assessment prices are charged separately from medication service costs. For more details, view our ADHD assessment pricing page.
Titration, the process of adjusting your medication and dosage, typically takes up to three months, with follow-up appointments spaced around three to four weeks apart to monitor progress.
However, this can vary on an individual basis depending on your symptoms and a variety of other factors. In some cases, we may need to arrange additional titration sessions to stabilise your medication. Your health and wellbeing are our top priority.
Shared care is an arrangement where your GP takes over prescribing and monitoring your ADHD medication, working alongside a specialist. It can make repeat prescriptions simpler and more affordable once you’re settled on your treatment.
We’d usually look at shared care once your medication is stable, meaning you’ve completed titration and your dose is working well for you.
Whether shared care goes ahead is always your GP’s decision. GP practices and their local commissioning body choose whether to accept a request, and they’re not obliged to, particularly where your assessment was carried out privately. So while we’re glad to support a request, we can’t guarantee your GP will agree.
If shared care isn’t accepted, you won’t be left without options. We’ll talk through continuing your prescribing privately with Xyla or other suitable ways to manage your care, so nothing is interrupted.
Costs include £650 for initial prescribing and titration, plus ongoing prescription or review fees. The cost of medication and dispensing is charged separately by the pharmacy.
You can view pricing for private ADHD assessments and treatment options on our pricing page.
Our service at Xyla focuses on accessible ways to get the support and treatment you need. That’s why we offer remote assessments that can be completed from the comfort of your own home – and we apply that same principle to accessing medication.
Our partner SignatureRX delivers ADHD medication to your door within 1-2 working days of your prescription being issued. No trips to the pharmacy needed.
For many people ADHD medication is an effective treatment, but like all medicines, it isn’t suitable for everyone and can cause side effects.
We only prescribe after a full assessment and a check of your suitability, including blood pressure and pulse. It’s started at a low dose and adjusted gradually, with regular reviews to monitor how it’s working for you. Your clinician will discuss the benefits and risks with you so you can decide together what’s right.
Medication is just one way to manage ADHD. Alongside our medication service, Xyla offers specialist-led post-diagnostic support: personalised, one-to-one online sessions that help you understand your diagnosis, manage everyday challenges and build confidence.
Post-diagnostic support is available for adults, teenagers and children aged 7 and over, including those diagnosed elsewhere.
