Frequently asked questions

Is this service part of the NHS?

No, were private providers. Scottish NHS autism services face very long waiting times, so we offer an alternative route to timely, quality assessment.

Will my GP accept your report?

Our reports are written so the GPs and other professionals involved in your care can use them. Assessments use recognised diagnostic tools such as ADOS-2 and follow SIGN 145, the national clinical guideline for autism in Scotland. This helps ensure the findings are widely recognised.

If a GP or NHS service prefers to apply their own criteria before acting on a private diagnosis, we can coordinate with your GP and work within the Scottish healthcare system to keep things joined up.

What support is available after diagnosis?

You’ll receive recommendations specific to your assessment findings. For ongoing support beyond your diagnosis, we also offer post-diagnostic support as an additional service. We can also point you towards Scottish autism organisations, local support networks and resources specific to Scotland’s systems and services.

Is the process confidential?

Yes, completely. We comply fully with GDPR and Scottish data protection standards. Your information is handled securely and remains confidential, and is never shared with anyone else without your consent.

Avoid long NHS waiting times and get the support you need sooner. Book your private online autism assessment with Xyla and take the next step with a trusted provider for autism assessments in Scotland.
