Frequently asked questions

Is this an NHS service?

No, Xyla offers private ADHD assessments that sit outside NHS referral routes. This means you can arrange an assessment without going through NHS waiting lists, which can often take a long time. Our service provides a quicker route to getting clarity about ADHD.

Will my GP recognise the report?

Our diagnostic reports are written for use by GPs, schools, workplaces and other services that may support you. In most cases, GPs accept our reports, but you should always check to confirm.

Our clinicians use recognised diagnostic tools such as DIVA-5 for ADHD and assessments follow NICE guidance. Clinical standards and governance procedures are in line with those used within NHS services, which means the reports are commonly accepted by organisations familiar with private assessments.

Some NHS services may still want to carry out their own review before prescribing medication. Local authorities may also follow their own rules when reviewing evidence for Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). With your consent, we can share your report with your GP to support coordinated care.

Do you offer ADHD medication?

If your assessment leads to an ADHD diagnosis and medication is considered suitable, we will outline the next steps and discuss available options.

Xyla does not currently prescribe medication directly, but we help you understand how medication can be accessed.

We also provide post-diagnostic guidance focused on wellbeing, practical strategies and education around ADHD.

Is my information kept confidential?

Yes, protecting your personal information is our priority. All consultations, records and communications follow strict data protection rules and are fully GDPR compliant.

Your details remain private and are only shared with others, such as your GP, when you give permission.

Skip long NHS waiting times and access the help you need sooner. Book your private online ADHD assessment with Xyla and take the next step with a trusted provider for ADHD assessments in Birmingham.
