We know that receiving a neurodiversity diagnosis can feel validating and empowering, however it can also feel very overwhelming. We wanted to let you know that you are not alone.
Our friendly and compassionate team offers psychoeducation sessions designed to help you understand your diagnosis better and manage its challenges effectively.
These sessions will provide valuable insights into how neurodiversity affects your daily life and equip you with practical strategies to thrive.
We’re here to guide you in your first steps towards self-advocacy and confidence, identifying your individual and specific needs and working with you to find ways of meeting them.
These sessions are educational, and will include information to help you understand your diagnosis, the common symptoms you may be experiencing, and specific tools and techniques to help you with the difficulties you may be experiencing.
Following diagnosis, you will be offered up to 4, one-hour long psychoeducational support sessions with one of our specially trained therapists.
Sessions are held remotely, we find this makes it easier to attend and makes sessions more accessible. Sessions are held via a secure video connection, this is to ensure that you get the most of out of your sessions.
Sessions are held weekly, with the same educational support practitioner.
We find that people gain more from their sessions through regular attendance, however we understand that there may be times when circumstances change.
Please contact our patient support team on xxxxxxxxxxx who will be able to cancel your session for you.
Please note that if you miss two or more sessions without notice that may result in discharge from the service.
Please note: We are not an emergency service, if you are in crisis and need urgent support or are worried about immediate risk of harm to self or others, please call 999. Alternatively, you can contact your GP and ask for an emergency appointment or visit your local A&E department. You can also contact the following services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week: NHS Helpline (111) and Samaritans (116 123).
